In Oshada's Words: Musings about all things spiritual

I teach spiritual unfoldment classes. In these weekly circles we always send out healing to family and friends, as well as for the greater good. We sit quietly and I do a guided meditation to help my students tune into their spiritual lives. We focus on troubled or painful parts of our own bodies and see ourselves as being receptive to a wonderful stream of healing light.

Then we see this radiant healing light build in the room. We visualize it gathering into a spiral that rises up through the ceiling and the roof of my office. We picture this luminescent light radiating north and south, east and west and encircling Mother Earth. As we send out this light it never diminishes. It gathers in power as we hold this sacred space in our mind’s eye.

This glowing spiral of pure healing energy travels over mountains and valleys, ocean, rivers and streams, forest and dessert, teeming metropolis and urban blight, farmlands, industrial complexes, wetlands, swamp and every aspect of our planet. All sentient life can draw on this power for healing. The light continues to radiate out to our solar system and beyond. At the end of each meditation I always say: “In this moment we have done our part to contribute to world peace.”

Most people are interested in world peace. If you ask someone they will say yes, they want world peace. They want to alleviate the suffering in the world, the hatred in the world, and the urge to fight. They wish for the world to be a safe, peaceful place where we can all walk in harmony together. They want world hunger and abuse of any kind to come to an end.

World peace is not something “out there.” It begins inside the individual, inside you and me. It is what we call an inside job. World peace cannot be achieved through legislation or external measures. That is like trying to swim upstream. When trying to create peace in our world, on Mother Earth, we must learn to cooperate with our higher self and our spiritual nature. We must get into the stream of consciousness, the stream of life that surrounds our precious Mother Earth.

Each one of us has the capacity to contribute to world peace every single day. Every time we enter into the silence, and sit in a receptive way, we are becoming more peaceful, and therefore contributing to world peace. Every time we think healing thoughts we are contributing to world peace. Every time we make space in our daily life to sit quietly, even if it is for only five minutes, we are contributing to world peace.

The world can change in five minutes. Five minutes are precious. We can use those precious minutes to create world peace within ourselves and in the world around us.

The world hinges on our commitment to create peace within our own life. If we create peace inside of ourselves, we become a beacon of light for others. Others are drawn to us. They want to know what our secret is. How is it that we can be so peaceful? How is it that we can radiate joy and acceptance?

As we take the time to close our eyes, to settle the body and go within, we are linking with a universal consciousness. We enter into the stream of life that moves all through humanity, that moves throughout our planet. As we link in with this stream of consciousness, this flow of peaceful energy we are tuning into the original World Wide Web. In so doing we become part of the solution. We are no longer a part of the problem. We are part of the solution.

Every time we step into the stream of consciousness that surrounds us and our world, we are being relieved of our own personal troubles. We are being relieved of our anger, resentments and discontentment with life. We are being relieved of our own personal suffering, even if it is only for five minutes a day.

The relief builds day to day, five minutes upon five minutes. The release we feel grows. It becomes so tremendous that it permeates not only our body and our physical well-being, but it infuses our mind and alleviates stress. It saturates our emotional body and bring us, eventually and with practice, to a place of harmony.

I always emerge refreshed from this stream of consciousness, this stream of peace. This power grows within me, and all of us when we take time to develop our spiritual consciousness. It has the power to transform us. Every day we repeat our spiritual make-over, we witness the changes taking place in our lives.

Complaints and dissatisfaction start to fall away. Hope begins to permeate our daily life. Stress begins to dissipate. Coping skills grow. Anger and hurt are transformed. We choose to focus on gratitude. We find that we want to reach out to others and make a positive difference in their lives.

World peace is not something “out there” in the ethers. It is not resting in hands of others. It is decided in our own heart every single day!

Each day as we awake we make a decision to be a part of the solution, a part of world peace. Each day we choose to move into the stream of consciousness, the World Wide Web of Consciousness that surrounds our precious Mother Earth. Each day we can resolve to contribute to world peace. As we do this, peace will enter our own lives. It will become a way of life for us.

Please join me in daily practice of creating world peace!
